About this Tour
Alfama survived the 1755 earthquake and remains the oldest heart of Lisbon. On this private route your LuxMotion chauffeur takes you through the slopes of Alfama, Graça and Mouraria, on an itinerary designed for those with only a morning or an afternoon ashore.
We leave the terminal and climb to Largo da Sé, passing the cathedral founded in 1147. Then come the views from Largo de Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol, with rooftops tumbling down to the river, and the climb up Calçada da Graça to the Nossa Senhora do Monte viewpoint — the highest point and, for many, the most beautiful.
Along the way we pass Campo de Santa Clara, the National Pantheon and the Fado Museum, and there is always the option to step out for a short walk if you feel like it. This is authentic Lisbon, with time for photographs and no rush at all.

We only had a half day and picked this for the viewpoints. Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol back to back at that hour were extraordinary. Our driver explained the azulejos and the 1147 cathedral in a way that made it stick.
Ninety minutes sounds too short for a city but for Alfama it is exactly right. We saw the cathedral, three viewpoints and the Fado museum from outside, and were back on board long before all aboard time.
O percurso está bem pensado e a Nossa Senhora do Monte ao fim da tarde é das melhores vistas da cidade. Fica a sensação de que faltou tempo para sair do carro em Alfama e andar um pouco a pé. Se houvesse versão de duas horas, escolhia essa.
